Beatrice Sartori

Collage Artist

Beatrice Sartori is a contemporary collage artist of Spanish-Italian-Swiss origin, born in 1968 in Bern. A self-taught artist, she has developed a distinctive technique of artistic cutting and collage, transforming paper into intricate compositions. Her award-winning work has been exhibited in Switzerland and internationally, featured in art magazines, and published in a book combining her collages with poetry. Inspired by everyday elements—scraps of paper, textures, reflections, and shadows—Beatrice meticulously cuts and assembles each piece by hand, with some areas containing up to eight overlapping layers. Her precise, graphic, and modern style is defined by vibrant colors and intricate compositions, exploring themes of joy, respect, and harmony. Deeply committed to sustainability, she primarily works with 100% recycled paper, reinforcing her connection to nature and environmental preservation. In 2025, Beatrice was honored as the “Artist Ambassador” representing Switzerland at Art Connects Women in Dubai, under UNESCO’s patronage. Beyond her visual art, she is also an author of children's books, with her latest published in 2023. Beatrice Sartori is a professional artist based in Switzerland.

"Fragments of Harmony: The Art of Beatrice Sartori"

Beatrice Sartori’s collages exist at the intersection of precision and spontaneity, where cut paper transforms into poetic visual narratives. Her technique—meticulously layering hand-cut fragments—elevates collage from an assemblage of materials to a refined, painterly composition. Sartori’s work is imbued with a modernist sensibility, combining bold graphic elements with intricate textures that breathe life into each piece.

Her exploration of color is both intuitive and deliberate, evoking emotional resonance while maintaining structural balance. The overlapping layers, sometimes reaching eight deep, create a striking interplay between depth and flatness, inviting the viewer into a tactile experience beyond the visual. Her choice of recycled materials is not merely an environmental statement but a conceptual one—giving new life to discarded elements mirrors the very essence of collage as an art form.

Sartori’s thematic focus on harmony, nature, and human connection is seamlessly embedded in her artistic process. Her compositions are not just images; they are orchestrations of meaning, where every fragment holds significance. In an era dominated by digital manipulation, Sartori’s devotion to the handmade underscores a rare and compelling authenticity, making her work a testament to both craftsmanship and contemporary artistic thought.
