"Unwritten Worlds" are realms that exist beyond the tangible, revealed only through the act of creation, where fluid forms and shifting identities merge into new dimensions of existence.

Samineh Amel Sayyah’s latest solo exhibition is an invitation to step into a world where perception is fluid, and reality is constantly shifting. Her paintings refuse to be bound by traditional perspective, instead offering a multidimensional experience that hovers between figuration and abstraction. Faces emerge and dissolve, forms intertwine, and negative space takes on an active, dynamic role, sometimes becoming an extension of the figures themselves, at other times morphing into new subjects entirely.

What sets Sayyah’s work apart is her treatment of portraiture—not as a means of capturing identity in a static form, but as a conduit to something far more ethereal. Each face, rather than being a singular representation, exists as part of a continuum, interconnected with other forms and spaces. The rhythmic repetition of features creates a mesmerizing effect as if the viewer is witnessing multiple dimensions of a single being simultaneously.

Her rejection of Renaissance-style perspective is not a rejection of depth but rather a reimagining of it. The spatial structures in her work exist in a state of flux, where abstracted forms and hyper-detailed realism coexist seamlessly. The effect is almost musical, like visual polyphony, where different elements resonate at different frequencies but remain part of the same overarching composition.

Conceptually, Sayyah’s work challenges the conventional understanding of genius, arguing that brilliance is not an anomaly but a natural extension of human difference. Her paintings embody this philosophy, celebrating individuality while acknowledging the interconnected fabric of existence. They suggest that self-knowledge is not found in isolation but in the acceptance of both our differences and shared humanity.

Ultimately, Sayyah’s exhibition is not just a display of technical mastery—it is an exploration of the very nature of perception, existence, and artistic creation. It demands that we look beyond the surface, beyond traditional structures, and embrace a world in constant motion, where art becomes the bridge between the known and the unknown.
